Alan Cameros – Rochester Arts & Lectures

June 14, 2013

An active contributor to many non-profit organizations, Alan Cameros supports Rochester Arts & Lectures. When describing his interest in the series, Alan Cameros praised the group for providing “informed learning, enrichment, and uplifting experiences.”

Since 1989, Rochester Arts & Lectures has hosted educational programs featuring notable figures from a variety of disciplines. Six times a year, it brings artists to the city to enlighten the public about their careers and beliefs. Speakers at Rochester Arts & Lectures have included author Kurt Vonnegut, poet Maya Angelou, Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau, and scientist Stephen Jay Gould. Beyond its primary series, the program also runs alternative programming that has covered American regional cultural writings, immigration in America, and crime literature.

The 2013-2014 line-up continues this tradition of excellence. The series begins in October with David Henry Hwang, the Tony- and Obie award-winning playwright of M. Butterfly, among other works. In 2014, Evolution: The Triumph of an Idea writer Carl Zimmer and folk singer Judy Collins are scheduled to appear.
